Will.i.am launching new iPhone accessories to turn your smartphone into a genius phone Will.i.am , the star of the Black Eyed Peas has decided to jump into the technology world with the launch of a range of accessories designed specifically for the iPhone. The launch of the new brand will take place next week with accessories that he claims, will turn your smartphone into a genius phone according to The Telegraph.

The first product from his new consumer electronics and app venture i.am+ is an accessory that clips onto an iPhone and transforms the eight megapixel smartphone camera into a 14 megapixel camera, which it is claimed dramatically enhances the clarity and definition of your photographs. Speaking exclusively to The Daily Telegraph, he says: 'We have our own sensor and a better flash. You dock you phone into our device and it turns you smartphone into a genius-phone. We take over the camera.'

The camera will be the first of a series of digital products that bear his name – to support them, he has invested in what he calls 'digital real estate' online. He now owns the domain www.i.am. Users of i.am+ accessories will be given individual online profiles, for example www.i.am/Will.

The i.am+ camera add on has already made an appearance in a video for Britney Spears and Will.i.am's joint venture "Scream and Shout." Will.i.am has a development license from Apple which allows him to produce and sell the camera accessory. Will.i.am is also working on many more accessories for the iPhone and a larger range will be available soon.

Big claims from Will.i.am, let's hope that these accessories live up to the hype he is creating for them. The accessories will be launched and sold exclusively through the Selfridges shop chain in the UK and will be officially shown off on November 28th in London. No news on international availability, but I am sure it won't be long.

iPhone 5 vs. Droid DNA: Which phone should you get?

No sooner does Apple released the iPhone 5 than HTC and Verizon escalate with the Droid DNA. Where the iPhone 5 is slim and sophisticated, the Droid DNA is big and brutally powerful. Where Apple is anodized aluminum, HTC is soft-touch polycarbonate. Where iOS is consistent across all Apple's mobile products, HTC Sense changes up the Android interface for good or for ill. From atom to bit, the iPhone 5 and the Droid DNA couldn't be more different. So if you're looking for a new phone on Verizon, how do you choose between them?

HTC Droid DNA

The HTC Droid is huge. It's not part tablet, part phone, if such things concern you, but with a 5-inch screen, it's about as big as a phone can get. What's more, that 5-inch screen houses and incredible 1920x1080 (1080p) screen at a retina-rupturing 440ppi. It's the biggest, densest display on the market today. However, all that screen-power is being driven by the same Snapdragon S4 Pro horse-power that drives other, much smaller displays, like the 720p Nexus 4. HiDPI comes at a performance price, after all. The cameras are both excellent, with an 8 megapixel f/2.0, 1080p sensor with BSI on the back, and a 2.1 megapixel, 1080p sensor, also with BSI, on the front. The bad news is that the battery is only 2020mAh, which some will find acceptable and others won't, and Verizon is only offering the Droid DNA with 16GB, no more. And that's not a lot of space when you're dealing with 1080p.

The Droid DNA shops with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, but should get an Android 4.2 update at some point. As usual with HTC devices, instead of the stock Google experience, you get the Sense interface, in this case, Sense 4+. You get 5 Home screens, adorned, of course, with the iconic HTC clock. You've also got a suite of Amazon media apps, whose streaming capabilities should help reduce the burden on the 16GB of storage (technically 11GB once the OS and apps are factored in), and a few other pre-installed apps, courtesy of Verizon.

In the Verizon Droid DNA review, Phil Nickinson of Android Central summed it up like this:

The simple fact is this: Alongside the Samsung Galaxy S3, the HTC Droid DNA is the best Android phone you can get on Verizon. Display, power, camera, and it's running Jelly Bean out of the box. What more do you need?

In the U.S., the Droid DNA is exclusive to Verizon, though versions of the same basic phone, with different names, will likely show up on different networks, especially internationally, at some point.

Apple iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 has a completely re-engineered unibody aluminum chassis to allow for a bigger 4-inch screen in a phone that's 12% smaller by volume. It's taller but not wider, thinner and also lighter. That 4-inch screen uses in-cell technology to combine the touch sensor right into the LCD so the pixels look painted on. At 1136x640 and 326ppi, it's still backlit LED, and still IPS, and while nowhere near the biggest, it's still one of the most advanced panels on the market. Apple also rolled their own, manually-set Apple A6 processor this time, based on ARM v7s, for high performance and excellent power management.There is CDMA, HSPA, and international LTE. And you can get it in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB versions. There's still no NFC or wireless charging, however.

iOS 6 comes loaded on the iPhone 5, and includes a new, controversial Maps app, some great extensions to Apple's virtual assistant, Siri, deep Facebook integration, Passbook for tickets and vouchers, and enhancements to FaceTime, Mail, Safari, Photo Stream, Panorama, and Accessibility. And because Apple makes both the hardware and the software, there's no integration cost, no added interface layers, and a seamless experience overall.

iTunes has the biggest international content footprint, so if you're into buying your music, TV, and movies, there's a better chance Apple will take your money than anyone else. They also have the free iCloud service for backup, restore, and sync, as well as Apple Retail Stores with Genius Bars which, if you ever break your phone, you'll absolutely consider a killer service.

In the iPhone 5 review, I summed it up as follows:

Taller, thinner, faster, lighter, brighter; the iPhone 5 represents nothing more nor less than the latest, relentless iteration on the Platonic ideal Apple has been striving towards for almost a decade. Redesigned in every way but shape, compromised but true to its purpose, the iPhone 5 is once again the best iPhone Apple has ever made, and one of the best phones ever made. Period.

The price on-contract price for an iPhone 5 is $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB, unlocked and off-contract is $650, $750, and $850 respectively.

Apple iPhone 5 vs. HTC Droid DNA: The bottom line

The Droid DNA has absolutely the biggest, sharpest screen on the market, and if pure pixel density is your measure, the best one too. HTC Sense is a mixed blessing -- some love it, others hate it. Like the Verizon crap-ware that comes pre-installed, however, you'll have to root and flash a different ROM, like Cyanogen, to get an experience that's closer to stock. Also, while Android Central didn't encounter major battery or performance issues, other reviews have found them problematic (but then, the same could be said about the iPhone.) 16GB of storage is anemic, however, no matter how you slice it. Still, but for that, and from a pure tech and spec perspective, the Droid DNA is arguably the baddest ass Android phone on the planet now. And if you're on Verizon, or willing to switch to Verizon, and don't want an iPhone, it really looks like the phone to beat.

The iPhone 5 manages to fit a 4-inch screen into a phone that's ludicrously thin and light, and built like nothing else on the market. iOS 6 is iOS 6 on every iPhone that supports it, so there's no third-party layer on top of the core operating system. That's either a plus or a negative, depending on how you feel about iOS. There's also no crap-ware, however, and no carrier pre-installed anything. There's also 32GB and 64GB options if you want to store more apps and media on your iPhone. And you can get the iPhone 5 -- the same iPhone 5 -- on almost any carrier you choose. You can also get iTunes content in more countries than any other media store, and Apple Retail provides the best customer care in the business.

If you're on Verizon and want an LTE phone, and the even the idea of 1080p display sends you heart racing, get the HTC Droid DNA. Otherwise, for most people, most of the time, the cliche remains true -- get the iPhone.

Analytics Tiles App is an iPad and iOS app that presents your Google Analytics (GA) website data in a new and unique way. As the name might imply, the app offers up your data in a set of colorful tiles that you can manipulate.

It uses one tile for each GA report area – e.g. page views, visits, average time on site, top referral, top keywords, and so on. There's generous spacing between the tiles, so it's easy to take in the information as you browse through them. You just tap, hold, and drag to re-order the tiles any way you like. With a swipe up you can add or remove tiles, an with another swipe up you can modify the color scheme. I keep tabs on a handful of sites I own or am involved with – it's great being able to color-code them and easily distinguish one from another at a quick glance.

Tiles is all about making the right decisions fast! Put stats that matter to you up front and don't waste time digging through endless content. Just add, move and remove the stats that you need. If you're monitoring a shop, put the transaction and e-commerce metrics on top, if you are into goals, put your conversions on top. It's kind of like a grid and you're in control of what comes where.

Complete guide to Siri commands for alarms, timers, and the clock

Siri ties right into the iOS Clock app on your iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 4, iPad mini, and iPod touch 5, which means if you want to be woken up at 7am, have a timer set for 10 minutes so the cookies don't burn, or find out what the hour is in Australia before you call, Siri can keep you alerted and on time.

How to set an alarm with Siri

Siri can set alarms quickly and easily.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri to set an alarm, along with the time. For example: "Set an alarm for 8pm", "Set an alarm for 5 minutes from now", "wake me up at 9am".

Siri will display the alarm widget on the screen. If you change your mind about the alarm, you can simply toggle it to "off". You can also tap the widget to be taken to the Clock app.

Note: Siri can't set an alarm for more than one day in advance. If you try to use Siri to set an alarm further in advance, you'll be asked if you want to set a Reminder instead.

How to set a repeating alarm with Siri

If you want an alarm to repeat, for example, to wake you up at the same time every day, Siri can set that up for you as well.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri to set an alarm, along with the time. For example: "Set an alarm for 6pm every weekday" or "wake me up at 9am ever day".

When Siri displays the alarm widget, the repetition interval is show about the on/off toggle switch.

How to show current alarms with Siri

Over time, you may lose track of all the alarms you've set, especially inactive ones. Siri can show you list of all alarms, and their current status -- on or off.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri to: "Show all alarms".

You can quickly toggle any of the alarms shown from on to off or vice versa, or ask Siri to change or delete them. (See below.)

How to change an alarm with Siri

If you set an alarm, but later need to change it, Siri can handle that for you as well.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri which alarm you want to change, and what time you want to change it to. For example: "Change my 9am alarm to 9:30am."

How to turn off alarms with Siri

Nights get late, meetings get canceled, and plans change. If you no longer need an alarm, you can ask Siri to turn it off.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri which alarm you want to turn off. For example: "Turn off my 8am alarm" or even "turn off all alarms."

Note: Turning off is different than canceling or deleting. When you turn an alarm off, it remains available for you to quickly turn back on at any time, even manually. When you cancel or delete an alarm, it's gone completely and needs to be recreated if you ever want to use it again.

How to cancel alarms with Siri

When turning off alarms isn't enough, and you want them completely gone from your Clock system entirely, Siri a fast way to delete a specific alarm, and an incredibly fast way to delete all of them.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri which alarm you want to cancel. For example: "Cancel my 9:30am alarm" or go for the nuclear option and "cancel all alarms".

How to set a timer with Siri

Since the Clock app can set timers as well as alarms, Siri can set timers as well as alarms. Whether you're waiting for your cookies to bake, or your next set of circuit training to begin, Siri can make sure you always alerted at exactly the right time.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri to set the timer, and for how long. For example: "Set a timer for 10 minutes".

The Timer widget will remain visible on your screen until the timer goes off, or you leave Siri. Tap the timer widget to launch the Clock app and access the manual controls.

Note: Siri can only run one timer at a time. If you try to set another, Siri will ask you if you want to keep the current one or change to the new one. (See below.)

How to show, stop, or re-start a timer with Siri

If Siri is no longer displaying your timer, you can easily ask it to show you the timer again, and to pause/stop or start it whenever you like.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri what you want to do with the current time. For example: "Show timer", "stop timer", "start timer".

How to change a timer with Siri

Siri can also change the duration of a timer, if you need to increase or decrease the length for any reason.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Tell Siri to change the timer. For example: "Change timer to 5 minutes".

How to find out the time with Siri

What if you need to know the time in Cupertino, California so you don't miss that Apple keynote? Or you want to find out the time in Rome, Italy, so you don't wake up nono too early? Just ask Siri.

Press and hold down the Home button to activate Siri.
Ask Siri the time in any location around the world. For example: "What's the time in Rome, Italy?"

Tap the clock widget to go to the Clock app for more options.

Apple's Black Friday one day shopping event now live around the world Apple has gone live with its Black Friday one day sale and you could make a reasonable saving if you take advantage of the one day event. The sale includes the iPad with Retina display, iPad 2, iPod touch, MacBook Pro with Retina display, MacBook pro, MacBook Air and a few selected accessories.

If you fancy picking up an iPad with Retina display today, you can get yourself a saving of $41 off the usual price; regardless of what model you go for. The iPad 2 line sees a slightly smaller saving, but still $31 off the price is not to be sniffed at. The iPod touch also has its price slashed by $31 and the 4th generation iPod touch by slightly less attractive $21.

The biggest savings can be found in the MacBook range, you can save a very healthy $101 off a new MacBook regardless of what model you go for. The same $101 discount applies to the MacBook Air too. Apple has also knocked a few dollars off some selected accessories like the AirPort Express, Time Capsule, Magic Mouse, Trackpad, Wireless Keyboard, Smart Covers and headphones.
